The design of Aroma is deeply rooted in the sensory experiences that shape our recollection of spaces. For the owner of this home, the distinctive scent of cypress wood acts as a mnemonic device, unlocking a treasure trove of childhood memories. Luke Wang's renovation project transcends mere aesthetics, engaging the senses to rekindle the warmth of bygone days within a contemporary setting.

Spanning an impressive 661 square meters, Aroma is a canvas where every material has been meticulously selected to contribute to the overall sensory journey. From the Fenix flooring to the stone marble and Imora sintered stone, each element plays a role in crafting an indescribable nostalgic atmosphere. The Bolon carpet underfoot and the multi-layered wooden flooring add layers of texture that complement the visual artistry of the space.

Technology and craftsmanship converge in Aroma, with the use of advanced materials like Hunter Douglas curtains framing the windows and controlling the interplay of light and shadow. The design's unique properties lie in its ability to transport the inhabitant to a different time and place, using the aroma of cypress as a guide through a trail of fragrance that leads to a painting at the end of a corridor—a painting that encapsulates a lifetime of memories.

The design's realization is a testament to Luke Wang's commitment to quality and detail. The integration of various materials not only serves a functional purpose but also contributes to the overall artistic flavor of the space. Aroma is designed to be an experience for all senses, where one can indulge in the visual, auditory, olfactory, gustatory, tactile, and mental feast that the environment provides.

Commencing in January 2019 and reaching completion in October 2022, the project's installation period spanned over a year, ensuring that every detail was perfected. The result is a space that is not just a home but a sanctuary where memories are both preserved and created. The design's excellence has been recognized with a Bronze A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2024, highlighting its innovation and contribution to enhancing quality of life.
